January MTB Coaching Sessions – Start Your Year on the Trails

This January, the Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy team bring you an exciting opportunity at Sherwood Pines Forest Park to kick-off your MTB skills for the new year. We’re running a full progression pathway across three ability groups so whether you’re just getting started or already trail-confident, we’ve got something for you.

Sherwood Pines MTB Coaching – Friday 2nd January 2026

We’ve set aside a full day for your development on the trails at Sherwood Pines. Choose the group that matches your ability and ambition:

 Trailblazer Group |10:00 - 11:30

  • Ages 4–10 (new to MTB, able to pedal)
  • Focus: Core riding skills such as braking, balance, standing on the pedals, and basic turns
  • A fun, supportive session to build confidence and enjoyment on the trails

  • For developing trail riders who are comfortable on blue graded trails and ready to build speed, flow and better line choice.
  • Focus: Berms, pump track style features, small jumps, technical elements on blue trails.
  • Ages approx. 6–14, developing trail riders

Red Group | All day 10:00 -16:00

  • Ages approx. 10–16, more experienced riders
  • Full-day coaching with an emphasis on progressing beyond the Blue group skills
  • Focus: Speed management, line choice, jumping techniques, and riding with confidence on more demanding terrain

During the session, all groups will benefit from expert coaching on jump technique and drop technique — two key skills to help you ride with more control, more flow, and more fun.

With limited group sizes, each rider gets focused coaching and individual attention — meaning you’ll make real improvements, and we can tailor feedback to you. Because of this, spaces are limited and will go fast!
